News / Guilty of assaults
A MAN who was found guilty of repeatedly assaulting his former partner last year will be sentenced in October.
Robert Setrice, of Skerpalea, Sandwick, denied assaulting the woman on various occasions at his home address and an address in Lerwick on or between 1 October and 16 December.
The 41 year old was accused of repeatedly grabbing her by the body and applying pressure, grabbing hold of her by the neck and dragging her, throwing her to the floor and kicking her on the body, all to her injury.
Following a trial at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday, sheriff Kevin Veal found Setrice guilty of the charge.
He was also found guilty of breaching a court order by contacting the woman on 22 December at an address in Sandwick by sending her a text message.
Sentence was deferred until 12 October for social work reports to be prepared, with Setrice bailed in the meantime.
