MORE THAN £1,150 was raised for charity when a 40-strong pop-up choir gave a concert in Lerwick’s St Columba’s Church last Wednesday.

The money will now go to the Morapeli orphanage for disabled children in the landlocked African nation of Lesotho.

Mona McAlpine of the charity From Shetland with Love said she would be travelling to South Africa later in the year to hand over the money.

The orphanage is home to many physically disabled children, many of whom are also HIV positive.
