Plenty information about Lerwick’s history and street names

FIVE new information panels about Lerwick’s history and street names have gone on permanent display in the town centre.

Two of the boards at Harrison Square detail place names in Shetland and Lerwick, while the other three feature information about the town’s historical and geographical sites of interest.

The panels, which were created by Lerwick Community Council in conjunction with Shetland Amenity Trust and launched on Thursday, also offer information about the town’s well-known lanes and its development over the years.
