THE Princess Royal visited Shetland last weekend as part of her duties as the patron of the Northern Lighthouse Board.
She arrived on board the NLB ship Pharos on Friday to first visit the Out Skerries lighthouse before taking a tour of the lights at Lunna Holm and Firth’s Voe.
Later on Friday night she hosted a dinner for invited guest in Lerwick, before visiting the NLB’s base in Scalloway and visiting the lights in Eshaness and Fethaland the following day.
The Princess Royal the departed for Orkney where the Pharos participated in a commemorative event off the Kitchener’s Memorial at Marwick Bay marking 100 years since the loss of HMS Hampshire.
