News / Drink driver’s three-year ban

A FIFTY five year old man who drove while nearly three times the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for three years.

Brian Adamson, of Aister, Hamnavoe, admitted driving on the B9074 Trondra to Scalloway road on Friday (3 June) at Hogalee, East Voe with 62 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 22mcg.

In addition to the three-year ban, he was fined £750 and sheriff Arnold Duncan ordered the forfeiture of a Citroen Berlingo vehicle.
