News / Accident shuts road at Voe
THE MAIN road at Voe has been closed by police after an accident which took place shortly after lunchtime on Tuesday.
Both the main A970 and the road leading from Voe to the North Isles ferry terminal have been shut to enable emergency services to attend the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesman said a report of a two-vehicle road collision on the A970 near Voe was received at 2.10pm.
The collision, involving a car and a 4×4, occured near the B9076 junction. A man and a woman were reported to have been injured, but the police spokesman said both were conscious and breathing.
Fire and ambulance services were also in attendance at the scene, and it is hoped that the road will reopen shortly.
