SHETLAND Arts is to hold a meeting to discuss how best to encourage the development of literature in the isles later this month.
It follows similar sessions in relation to theatre, visual art and craft and film, and will take place in Screen 2 of Mareel at 6pm on Tuesday 16 February.
The event is open to all, and Shetland Arts is encouraging any interested parties to attend.
The post of literature development officer, previously held by Donald Anderson, was one of the jobs cut in a restructuring shortly after general manager Graeme Howell took up the hot seat.
Howell said: “The previous meetings regarding film, theatre and visual art and craft have been extremely productive, and have helped us understand where the Shetland public and creative communities feel we ought to be focusing our efforts.
“I would urge anyone with an interest in any aspect of literature to come along and make their voice heard.”
As with previous discussions, the meeting will be followed up by an online survey to gather further feedback and ensure that all interested parties have an opportunity to have their say.
Shetland Arts is planning further conversations and music and contemporary and traditional arts over the next 12 months.
