News / Yell ferries resume service

INTER islands ferry services on Yell Sound are due to resume at 2.30pm on Wednesday after a fault on the linkspan of the Ulsta terminal has been fixed.

Services for north isles commuters had been reduced to a one ferry passengers only after the fault in the linkspan was discovered on Wednesday morning.

Shetland Islands Council engineers have been working on replacing parts in the linkspan’s hydraulics all morning.

The council’s ferry services said a short while ago that normal services would resume at 2.30pm from both Toft and Ulsta.
