News / Wind puts paid to ferries
TONIGHT’S Serco NorthLink passenger and freight ferries have all been cancelled due to southeasterly gales and high seas.
In an operations update issued on Wednesday morning, the ferry operator also said MV Hjaltland’s Aberdeen-Lerwick sailing and MV Hrossey’s Lerwick-Aberdeen sailing on Thursday evening were both under review with the possibility of delayed departures.
Serco NorthLink is also warning passengers that severe weather is “highly likely to adversely affect our services” through until Friday, with a further update to be issued on Thursday.
There is a “high possibility” that freight sailings on Thursday will be cancelled.
