News / Ferries cancelled again
SUNDAY’s ferry sailings to and from Shetland have been cancelled as high winds continue to affect travel plans.
Both the northbound and southbound journeys have been shelved as south-easterly gales show little sign of abating.
It follows ferry operator NorthLink’s decision to cancel both journeys on Saturday.
The company has confirmed that Monday’s sailings are likely to go ahead, but they may be subject to delays.
The sailing from Lerwick to Aberdeen will not stop at Kirkwall.
Freight vessel MV Hildasay‘s journey from Aberdeen to Kirkwall on Sunday is also cancelled.
Fellow freight ship MV Helliar‘s journey from Lerwick to Aberdeen on Monday is currently under review.
