News / Cancellations likely
FERRY operators NorthLink have issued an early warning for potential travel disruption at the weekend.
The company says that forecasts indicate more severe weather on Saturday with south easterly gales and high seas from Saturday until early next week.
“This is highly likely to adversely affect our services, particularly from Lerwick to Aberdeen,” a statement said.
The Hjaltland arrived in Aberdeen at 11am on Thursday morning and is not scheduled to sail again until Saturday, a journey which has “a high possibility of cancellation” and will not call at Kirkwall.
Hrossey arrived in Lerwick at 8am, and Saturday’s sailing is also likely to be cancelled.
