News / Excellent customer service
LERWICK town centre has been recognised for its commitment to delivering “excellent” customer service.
Members of umbrella organisation Living Lerwick helped the area gain the status by working with customer service training service WorldHost.
More than a quarter of businesses in the town centre now have the WorldHost recognised business title, which means at least half of their frontline staff have gone through special training.
This in turn made the area become a recognised WorldHost destination – the most northerly in the UK.
Living Lerwick’s Christena Irvine said the organisation is “thrilled” to see the town centre recognised.
“It’s a testament to the fantastic commitment that businesses in Lerwick town centre have made to their staff and their customers in delivering excellent service,” she added.
WorldHost have helped to train over one million people worldwide in customer service and the company advised staff at the London Olympics in 2012.
