News / Sullom assault charge

A MAN accused of assaulting his father by repeatedly punching him on the head in his home has been released on bail.

Daniel Andrews made no plea when he appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday.

The 32 year old faces a charge of assaulting his father at Stackhoull, Sullom, on 9 September by struggling with him, taking him to the ground and repeatedly punching him on the head, all to his injury.

Andrews was released on bail on the condition that he does not approach or contact his victim, and that he stays at a bail address in Cruester View, Lerwick.

He has also been ordered to attend a meeting with the local mental health team on Friday.

The case has been continued without plea until 30 September.
