News / Seafarms cash provides Nesting kids new walking kit
SCHOOL kids in Nesting have been boosted with a grant of over £1,000 that will pay for new walking equipment such as jackets, backpacks and pedometers.
Nesting Primary School have received a Heart of The Community grant from Scottish Sea Farms to encourage pupils to take part in more health-boosting walks.
Nesting Primary School teacher Joyce Garden said that the money will be used to ensure walks will be more “enjoyable and practical” for the children.
“We plan to increase walking with pupils and staff using World Walking [online virtual walks] to motivate participants,” she said.
“We will also join with other agencies to extend walking in the community and attract visitors to the area through rambler medal routes and geocaching.”
