News / Assault charges
A YOUNG MAN from Aith has been released on bail after appearing from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday accused of assaulting his partner at three different occasions between November last year and early August.
The case against Craig Fraser, of Hillcrest, was continued without plea until 16 September.
The 23 year old is accused of assaulting the woman at an address in the Westside village between 14 and 30 November, placing her in headlock and compressing her throat.
It is also alleged that he assaulted her between 1 June and 30 June, and again between 3 and August, all at the same address.
