News / Fair work secretary visit

Roseanna Cunningham MSP is due to visit the isles on Tuesday and Wednesday.

SCOTLAND’S fair work secretary Roseanna Cunningham will be in Shetland for two days next week to meet employers and the local authority.

High on the MSP’s agenda will be the subject of female employment and the future of training and other services needed to support employment.

On Tuesday Cunningham will visit Lerwick Brewery, the NAFC Marine Centre and Ocean Kinetics before spending an hour with Shetland Islands Council to discuss how employment services should look after 2017 when additional powers have been devolved by Westminster.

The following day the cabinet secretary will visit Brae high school, the Bridges Project, Shetland Arts and Shetland Amenity Trust.
