Missing man found safe and well

POLICE in Lerwick have confirmed that missing man John Smith has been traced “safe and well” in the local area.

An appeal was issued on Wednesday afternoon for the 75 year old, from New Zealand, who is in Shetland visiting family.

He had last been seen in Lerwick on Tuesday morning, but by teatime Police Scotland had managed to track him down. A police spokesman thanked members of the public for their assistance.
