News / Drug-related arrests
TWO men in their twenties have been arrested following the seizure of heroin, cocaine and cannabis.
Police said a 27 year old man was arrested having been stopped and found in possession of suspected heroin with a potential street value of £4,300.
A 29 year old man was also arrested following the seizure of what is suspected to be cocaine and cannabis with a potential street value of £35,000.
The seizure was the result of a joint operation between Police Scotland and the Dogs Against Drugs charity in Shetland.
Police said both men remained in police custody and reports have been sent to the procurator fiscal.
Shetland’s chief inspector Lindsay Tulloch said: “We will continue to work with Dogs Against Drugs in our effort to stop controlled drugs reaching Shetland and stop organised criminals from making money by selling drugs in Shetland.
“Individuals who sell drugs are living in our community and I would appeal to the public to support us and report anyone they suspect is involved in selling illegal drugs.”
