News / New jewellers in town
A NEW addition to Lerwick’s shopping experience opens on Saturday morning selling jewellery made in Orkney.
Aurora Jewellery has refurbished the former Shetland Office Supplies store at 82 Commercial Street over the past few weeks in a rush to open.
Owner Stephen Cooper said the shop would have the same layout and style as his outlets in Kirkwall and Thurso.
“Like our jewellery, all our shop fittings have been handcrafted,” he said. “The bespoke units have been designed and lit to display our collections to best effect.
“After a lot of hard work, we very much look forward to welcoming customers through the door on Saturday and gathering opinion on the new addition to the street.
“We are happy with what we have achieved, but what really counts is what the public think.”
He said Aurora welcomes commissions for unique wedding and engagement rings, and the shop will have a large selection of giftware and outfits for hire.
