Letters / Patronising rant
When are you going to get it into your head that communities have divisions and fallouts ALL the time? (How to repair divisions; SN, 25/02/15)
When are you going to understand that some supporters by their very actions most definitely are in it just for the money and could not give a flying toss for the environment?
By their very actions, I have no wish to be bestie friends with them.
When are you going to understand that the majority of people haven’t and never will consent to such a project?
So you carry on living in your nicey nicey likkle bubble of a dictatorship that all’s well and will be well if we all join hands and sing Kumbayah; in the meantime, I’ll carry on singing protest songs and believing in people power, and ignore your patronising rants and your attempts at mind games.
If I choose to ignore you in the future, it’s because nobody can force me to forgive you and no amount of attempts at brainwashing me will make me believe, for starters, that you deserve to be listened to.

Shetland News is asking its many readers to consider start paying for their dose of the latest local news delivered straight to their PC, tablet or mobile phone.
Journalism comes at a price and because that price is not being paid in today’s rapidly changing media world, most publishers - national and local - struggle financially despite very healthy audience figures.
Most online publishers have started charging for access to their websites, others have chosen a different route. Shetland News currently has over 600 supporters who are all making small voluntary financial contributions. All funds go towards covering our cost and improving the service further.
Your contribution will ensure Shetland News can: -
- Bring you the headlines as they happen;
- Stay editorially independent;
- Give a voice to the community;
- Grow site traffic further;
- Research and publish more in-depth news, including more Shetland Lives features.
