SHETLAND dentist Paul D’Eathe has been allowed to continue working under supervision after being found guilty of misconduct by the General Dental Council.
Two patients brought the charges against D’Eathe alleging failures over a 10 year period, many of which he admitted.
The charges included failing to update medical records between 2001 and 2011, making inadequate clinical notes and not taking proper x-rays. The full report can be found here.
D’Eathe returned to work in April following a two year suspension after the GDC found against his treatment of 14 people between 2004 and 2011.
Since then he has worked received training and worked under supervision, which will continue until next August.
NHS Shetland chief executive Ralph Roberts said: “NHS Shetland is aware of the outcome and findings from the recent GDC hearing.
“We always works closely with the professional regulators and will, therefore, continue to provide the required professional support and supervision over the next year to ensure our patients receive safe and effective care.”
