Letters / Dementia
At the recent Shetland Arts Wordplay book festival, as part of my day job, I had the pleasure of interviewing Sally Magnusson about her book Where Memories Go, and as someone who has experienced a similar scenario with my own mother I realise now that this is a ubiquitous condition which can leave family members feeling guilty and powerless.
I wish that I’d had Sally’s book available when I first realised that things were changing irrevocably for my own mother, Mary, a couthy and proud Scot.
I thoroughly recommend her book for anyone facing or suspecting that this is going to affect your life. Sally’s interview is here: www.writerstories.tv/
