News / Gwilym’s new job
THE FORMER director of Shetland Arts, Gwilym Gibbons, has been appointed as chief executive officer with the Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre, both of which are run by Horsecross Arts.
The 43 year old ran Shetland Arts for eight years and was responsible for the building of the £14 million Mareel cinema and music venue.
He announced his departure in March and left in September, but stayed on as a consultant.
He also set up his own consultancy service called Creative Help.
Perth Concert Hall was built for £17 million as a millennium project in 2005 with a capacity of 1600 people.
Gibbons will take over the reins at the centre in January.
