News / Trio reported after fire
TWO MEN and a woman are to be reported to the procurator fiscal in relation to a fire which broke out at St Clement’s Hall in Lerwick last week.
Police Scotland confirmed that three individuals would be reported after the fire in the unoccupied building in the town’s St Olaf Street last Monday evening.
It took crews from Lerwick and Scalloway more than an hour to put the fire out. The fire brigade said serious damage was caused to the extension of the former church building.
St Clement’s Hall was used as a sales warehouse by budget retailer Chris Hodge, before sitting empty for several years. Local businessman Malcolm Younger recently purchased it with a view to converting it into offices.
