News / First female manager
SCOTTISH SEA Farms has appointed its first ever female site manager to its fish farm at Loura Voe in Nesting.
Thirty one year old Kimberley Izdebksi, originally from Doncaster, has been with the company for over six years.
There are ten operational 80-metre pens at Loura Voe, which employs three staff, and Izdebksi expects its first harvest will be sometime in November next year.
“It was a big decision to move to Shetland, but I am really enjoying the challenges,” she said, adding the training she has received has been “excellent”.
Scottish Sea Farms’ Shetland regional manager Graham Smith said the company was “delighted that Kimberley has joined the team in Shetland as our first female trainee site manager”.
