News / Chippy challenge
BRAE’S busy fish and chip shop Frankie’s is once again vying to be judged Scotland’s best chippy in a head to head battle with Moore’s Fish and Chips of Castle Douglas.
Last year Frankie’s won the top prize in Scotland and went on to be voted second in the UK in the 2014 National Fish & Chip Awards.
Manager John Gold said the competition got tougher every year as standards in the trade rise.
“We will now be judged by industry experts during an unannounced visit. They’ll run the rule over every single aspect of what we do here at Frankie’s,” he said.
The top chippy in Scotland will be announced in October.
