News / Merlin lost power

LOCAL pleasure boat Merlin with four people on board called out the Lerwick lifeboat on Sunday morning after breaking down four miles east of Noss.

The crew called the coastguard after 15 minutes of trying to start the engine, but when the lifeboat was halfway there they succeeded.

The lifeboat carried on and escorted the 24 footer back to Lerwick marina, where they were met by two coastguard officers “just to check everything was OK”.
