Two on theft charge

A MAN and a woman charged with theft by housebreaking appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

David Robertson, 57, and Jaden Paterson, 27, both of Lerwick, appeared from custody. They made no plea or declaration and were both committed for further examination.

Robertson was remanded in custody, while Paterson was released on bail.

Police said it followed arrests relating to an alleged housebreaking in the Hill Grind area of Lerwick in the early hours of Tuesday 22 July.
