News / Punched woman

A MAN who admitted punching his wife on the head has had sentence deferred for three months.

Thirty five year old Slavik Kornejev, of North Road, Lerwick, appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon.

He pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman in the town’s Douglas Arms pub at around 11.30pm on Sunday night by punching her on the head.

Honorary sheriff Eric Peterson deferred sentence until 12 November for Kornejev to be of good behaviour.
