Remanded over calls
A 19 YEAR OLD man has been kept behind bars after appearing in court on Thursday charged with “persistently” phoning the police.
Nathan Hilditch, of Horseshoe Close, Virkie, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody until his next appearance on 4 August.
He is accused of using a public telephone box in Virkie “for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety” to police control room staff on Wednesday.
