News / Law Lane blaze

LERWICK firefighters were called out on Thursday night to tackle a blaze on the ground floor of a house on the town’s Law Lane.

The call came in at 9.40pm and it took the fire crews less than half an hour to extinguish the flames using a single hose reel jet and four breathing apparati.

However the house was left 50 per cent fire damaged and 100 per cent smoke damaged, according to a fire service spokeswoman.
