News / G4S – in trouble again
SECURITY firm G4S has been accused of being in breach of contract when they delivered a prisoner two and half hours late for an appearance at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Sheriff Philip Mann expressed his displeasure when proceedings were held up without the court having been notified that prisoner Jason Pottinger would only be arriving on a later flight.
It is the forth time that G4S has come under fire from Lerwick Sheriff Court since November last year.
Sheriff Mann said: “The court is not happy at all with the service we get from G4S.”
He added that the company had failed on its contractual obligations, which were to deliver prisoners by 9.30 am on court days
One of the guards said it was his understanding that Pottinger had been taken to the islands on the first available flight.
The company did not respond to a request for comment by the end of our deadline.
