News / Gales are back
JUST as the weather appeared to be settling down, NorthLink are reporting changes to their schedule in the face of gales forecast for the weekend.
Saturday’s southbound sailing of passenger ferry Hjaltland has been brought forward from 7pm to 4pm as south westerly winds reaching Force 8 and beyond are expected to strike overnight on Friday and continue through Saturday.
The freight vessels Helliar and Hildasay have also been affected, with Helliar now to leave Aberdeen at 6pm on Saturday and stay in Kirkwall from 8am until 8pm on Sunday before heading for Lerwick.
Hildasay’s Monday sailing for Aberdeen is being brought forward from 6pm to 7am.
