News / Dance mentors
TWO SHETLAND teenagers have started a nine-month journey as youth dance creators, a national programme inspiring young people to promote dance in their local community.
Bronwyn Mathieson and Cara McDiarmid were in Glasgow at the weekend for the first of five skill development weekends held by YDance, Scotland’s national youth dance organisation.
Project coordinator, Lisa Yip said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for these young people who will go back in to their local area and champion dance for people of all ages”
YDance aims to offer every child and young person in Scotland, aged three to 21, the opportunity to realise their potential as individuals through dance.
