News / BBC bulletin’s back
BBC RADIO Shetland is bringing back its Friday lunchtime bulletin at a different time and with a different flavour.
Last year the Beeb dropped its 12.30pm local news bulletin because it clashed with Brian Taylor’s Big Debate on Radio Scotland.
However the lunchtime bulletin was sorely missed, so BBC management have decided to bring it back at the earlier time of midday, using local presenters to read a mixture of local and nationals news.
Radio Shetland’s senior producer John Johnston said: “The local lunchtime bulletins were so badly missed on Friday’s that the BBC is now broadcasting a mixture of local and national news just before Brian’s show begins, to tie in with the debate and keep local listeners happy.”
