News / Crash and blaze
A DRIVER was discharged from Lerwick’s Gilbert Bain Hospital on Friday afternoon after their car left the main A970 road a half mile north of the Nesting junction around 10am.
Meanwhile around 12.30pm a fire crew from Sandwick extinguished a blaze that completely destroyed a camper van parked off the road at Scousburgh Hill, in Shetland’s south mainland, using one jet and two breathing apparatus.
The police were called to the scene, but no one was in the van and no one was hurt in the incident.
A police spokeswoman could not confirm whether there would be an investigation.
