News / Pre-school survey
SHETLAND Islands Council is consulting on the proposed changes to funded pre-school education, which will come into force in August.
The survey on the “600 hours of early years learning and childcare” follows on from a series of discussion meetings the council had with parents and carers at the end of last year.
Executive manager Chris Horrix said the survey would help the department plan for the increased provision and identify local preferences.
“The discussion meetings last year took place in a number of venues across Shetland and folk were asked to send in the options they wished to be included in this consultation survey.
“We were very pleased with the initial response and have been able to include most of the options submitted,” he said.
The survey can be accessed online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ShetlandPreschool.
Hard copies are available from Hayfield House by contacting the reception there on 01595 744000.
Responses to the survey should be made no later than 28 February.
