News / Driving test pass rate
JUST under two thirds of learner drivers in Shetland pass their test, according to the latest set of nationwide figures.
Lerwick clocks in at sixteenth out of the top 50 places in Scotland to pass the driving test with a 64.4 per cent success rate.
The Argyll town of Inveraray came top with an 87 per cent pass rate, with the upper echelons of the list dominated by rural parts of the country.
Figures for Shetland outperform those of nearest neighbour Orkney (51 per cent of tests successful) and Western Isles town Stornoway (56 per cent). Propping up the list were Greenock and Ayr on just over 50 per cent.
