THE FIRST acts for the second Heavy Metal Buffet rock festival have been unveiled as organisers seek to match the roaring success of last summer’s two day event.

To be hosted at the Lerwick Legion on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 August, the festival will boast the talents of English band Witch Charmer along with Shetland metal scene favourites Ten Tonne Dozer.

Witch Charmer describe themselves as a “hard-rockin’, groove-laden, doom-soaked audio assault voicing tails of disdain and suffering about this world gone bad”.

One of the organisers, Marjolein Robertson, said she was excited by the second installment of the festival.

“We were completely overwhelmed by the success of the buffet [in] 2013,” she said. “The performances were mindblowing and the audiences were in great spirits.

“We can’t wait to do it all again, especially with the lineup we have in store for you this year.”

The initial launch, to be followed by more band announcements in the months leading up to the festival, also includes a “very limited” offer of discounted early bird tickets.

You can find out more at the festival’s website at www.heavymetalbuffet.co.uk
