News / Driving offences
A 32 YEAR OLD man who admitted to serious motoring offences and hiding from the police has been warned he may face jail.
Peter Henderson, of Kalliness, Weisdale, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving when he appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday morning.
He admitted driving while he was disqualified and unfit through drink or drugs on roads in and around Lerwick on 29 November.
Henderson also pleaded guilty hiding in “hillside vegetation” from police who had been pursuing him after he crashed the car he was driving.
Sentence was deferred until 6 February for reports. Henderson made no application for bail and was remanded in custody.
Sheriff Philip Mann said a custodial sentence would be “uppermost” in his mind.
