News / Ferry leaves early
SERCO NorthLink have confirmed that Monday night’s southbound ferry will leave Lerwick two hours ahead of schedule to avoid the worst of the weather.
The Hjaltland will now depart at 5pm and is estimated to arrive in Aberdeen at 1pm on Tuesday, almost six hours behind schedule.
The company said it had made the change due to the current forecast and heavy seas.
Meanwhile, Tuesday night’s sailing of the Hrossey from Lerwick to Aberdeen looks set to be earlier than scheduled as well due to the expectation of continued bad weather.
NorthLink said it was likely that the passenger ferry would depart at 5pm and arrive in Aberdeen at 9am on Wednesday.
