Police look for missing pensioner

Alistair Wishart.

EMERGENCY services in Shetland have launched a full-scale search for a missing 74-year-old Lerwick pensioner who was last seen within the town’s Parkfield area.

Alistair Wishart is described as 5’3’’, slim build with short grey/white hair, a beard and circular glasses.

He is wearing a navy jacket, navy jogging bottoms and navy slip on canvas shoes.

On Sunday night Lerwick lifeboat, the search and rescue helicopter as well as voluntary coastguard teams were all called out to help in the search.

A spokes man for the police said: “It is requested all property owners in Lerwick check their gardens and outhouses and businesses check their premises.”

Anyone with any information regarding Wishart’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lerwick police station on 101.
