Walls man remanded

A WALLS man, appearing before Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday, was remanded in custody for his own safety and that of the public.

John Harding, of Kirkidale, appeared from custody on a charge of assaulting and threatening a GP at the Walls health centre.

The 39-year old is also charged with struggling violently with police officers. Both offences are alleged to have taken place on 23 August.

The case was continued without plea, and Harding is expected to re-appear before the court next Monday.
