News / Helicopter crashes off Fitful Head
A HELICOPTER, believed to be a Super Puma L2, with 18 people on board has ditched into the sea off Fitful Head, Shetland, on Friday evening.
There are reports of at least six casualties having been lifted from the water by helicopter and taken to the emergency landing site at Clickimin, in Lerwick.
The search and rescue helicopter as well as the lifeboats from Lerwick and Aith are all at the scene.
The NorthLink ferry on its way to Aberdeen has turned around and is reported to be assisting in the rescue.
