THE PRO independence campaign group Yes Shetland are rolling out their big guns at a campaign launch later this month.
YES Scotland chief executive Blair Jenkins will be joined by Scottish education secretary Mike Russell and Celia Fitzgerald from Labour for Independence at the event to be held in Lerwick’s Islesburgh Community Centre on 25 July.
The Thursday evening launch starts at 7.30pm and is expected to end around 9pm.
Last weekend Better Together launched its Shetland branch with campaign chief and former Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling.
The Liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative parties have joined forces to fight against a yes vote in the September 2014 referendum on Scottish independence.
The Scottish National Party and the Scottish Greens are backing independence, along with some members of the other three main parties represented in Holyrood.
