Three in hospital after crash

Hot, hot, hot! Photographer Austin Taylor captured this Kia on fire at Tesco car park just before the fire brigade arrived.

THREE people are recovering in hospital from a two car collision at the south Sandwick junction with the main A970 that took place at 7.30am on Wednesday.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged but reports say the individuals taken to hospital by ambulance only suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile the Lerwick fire brigade were called out to the Tesco car park at lunchtime to extinguish a car fire shortly before 1pm using two sets of breathing appliance and one hosereel jet.
