Van on fire

A FORD Transit van, parked in Lerwick’s Greenfield Place, was destroyed in an intense blaze on Thursday morning.

The blue Vauxhall car had to be moved to escape the flames.

Fire fighters were called to the fire just before 9am and had the blaze extinguished half an hour later.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Our photographer managed to get these dramatic images just before the arrival of the emergency services.
