UP HELLY AA revellers could be in for a battering in the early hours of Wednesday with severe gale or even storm force winds forecast to hit the isles.
The Met Office has issued yellow and amber weather warnings for the whole of the north of Scotland from the western isles across to Orkney and Shetland. Gusts of 80 miles or possibly even 90 miles per hours are possible.
NorthLink has already cancelled the early morning crossing on the Pentland Firth but there no updates on the Shetland service as yet.
