News / Ferry delays
STRONG south easterly gales are likely to disrupt the ferry service between Lerwick and Aberdeen on Monday night.
Operators NorthLink have asked passengers at both terminals to check in at the usual time for the 7pm sailings, but have warned both vessels are unlikely to sail before midnight.
The Hrossey will probably leave Aberdeen around 2am and is not expected to arrive in Lerwick before lunchtime on Tuesday.
The Hjaltland should depart Lerwick between midnight and 3am and NorthLink hope it will berth at Aberdeen in the early afternoon.
The south easterly winds ranging from Force 6 to 8 causing problems at Aberdeen harbour are responsible once again for the delays.
