News / New football president
SHETLAND Football Association had its healthiest turnout for years at its Thursday meeting, giving the sport a welcome boost.
Erik Graham was elected president for the first time, with Irvine Burgess returning as vice president.
Other new positions went to Jordan Webb (treasurer), Michael Nisbet (registration and discipline secretary) and independents Gerry Byres and Kevin Rennie.
Re-elected were Brydon Robertson (secretary), Robbie Goudie (A fixture secretary), Peter Wilson (B fixture secretary), Lewie Peterson (press secretary) and independents Magnus Flaws, Ian Irvine and George Smith.
A spokesman said the meeting saw many new proposals discussed, with a focus on increasing levels of participation, making sure fixtures are completed and clubs “upping their game off the pitch”.
He said: “With the new members onboard we hope everyone involved will help take Shetland football forward in what will be a challenging time coming up.”
